Following what seems to be something of a trend amongst certain directors and stars, Matt Reeves recently Tweeted the first image from War For The Planet Of The Apes; as you can now see below.
Matt’s returning to The Planet Of The Apes, having directed the successful Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes (sequel to Rise, and either the 3rd or 9th Apes movie depending on how you’re counting), and will tell the tale of War; picking up after the events of Dawn, which saw the apes garner an uneasy truce with the human survivors of the apocalyptic virus, and closed with reinforcements heading in to bolster the human forces of San Francisco.
No real plot details have been leaked thus far, and there’s very little known about the film other than the fact it’s filming now (evidently), will see Andy Serkis once again mo-capping head ape Caesar, and feature a cast which includes Woody Harrelson, Chad Rook and Gabriel Chavarria (as humans), and both Steve Zahn and Terry Notary (as apes).
War For The Planet Of The Apes will be released on July 14th 2017 in the US, before making its official UK release date on July 21st 2017.
