Wentworth Miller Guest Starring in House

The upcoming eight season of Fox’s House M.D. will see the medical drama take another slightly different turn; as the location once against moves out of the Princeton-Plainsboro hospital, and into the prison where everyone’s favourite diagnostician now resides; and has just added a new guest star to it’s cast list; Wentworth Miller.

Since headlining Fox’s popular drama Prison Break, Miller’s been filling his time with a guest role in Law & Order: SVU, a starring role in Resident Evil: Afterlife, and little else, but will soon pop up as a sickly individual, and a real altruist, who’ll need the aid of veteran doctor, pill-popper, and master-manipulator Gregory House (Hugh Laurie, Black Adder).

House will also have a number of other issues and transitions to work through this season; as while other guest stars such as Michael Pare (Streets of Fire) and Jaleel White (Urkel) will also be appearing; there’s the void left by the departure of series veteran Lisa Edlestein (the What Women Want star who’s played House’s boss Cuddy since the show’s outset), and the fact that Olivia Wilde (Cowboys & Aliens) will only be appearing sporadically as Thirteen.

Omar Epps (Scream 2), Jesse Spencer (Neighbours), Robert Sean Leonard (Dead Poets Society), and Peter Jacobson (Transformers), will be returning to the show which series creator David Shore says will now be “focussing on the basics”, and will only have “a slight shift” in tone with the new plot directions (that include having Brothers & Sisters star Odette Annable join the cast as a new member of House’s team). Though as far as getting renewed for a ninth season goes, David seems a little unsure, simply stating “that is yet to be known.”
