???????????????????????????Coming from David Simon (the creator of The Wire), the upcoming HBO miniseries Show Me A Hero is based on Lisa Belkin’s non-fiction book, about an America city being overseen by a young, idealistic, mayor, and has just added a number of high-profile stars to its roster; including Winona Ryder (Edward Scissorhands), Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2), and Jon Benthal (The Walking Dead star recently seen in The Wolf Of Wall Street).

Friction arises when the young mayor is tasked with building low-income housing in an upscale area of his town, and he’s quickly facing protests which could derail his entire political career. Ryder is set to play a confidante to the mayor, whilst Catherine Keener (Captain Phillips) will star as a homeowner who discovers key information regarding the plans, and join forces with a former NYPD detective (played by Molina) to rally those opposing the new developments.

Also starring Oscar Isaac (Drive), Terry Kinney (Oz), and James Belushi (According to Jim), Show Me A Hero has been written by both David Simon and fellow Wire collaborator William F. Zorzi, and is ready to be directed by Paul Haggis (Crash), ahead of an as yet unconfirmed air date.
