After the impact made by the distinctly old-fashioned, gothic, spooky, horror movie The Woman In Black, and its undeniable Box Office success, it came as no surprise when Hammer discussed releasing a sequel; a sequel which has now found a director in Tom Harper.

Best known for working on The Scouting Book For Boys and various TV series’ (including Demons, and This is England ’86) Harper will be crafting The Woman In Black sequel, The Angel Of Death (another novel from writer Susan Hill), from a script by Jon Croker (The Woman In Black’s story editor), and realizing the tale that no longer focusses on the character played by Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe in the first movie.

With the house from the first movie still taking centre stage, The Angel Of Death is set during the Second World War, and will find itself turned into a military hospital before a number of evacuated children visit the house, stir up its spooky past, and make a nurse realize there’s more to this house than meets the eye, when Harper eventually start’s filming on an as yet unannounced date.
