While an image recently surfaced online featuring Chris Pine and Said Taghmaoui on set (and received some fairly valid backlash over solely featuring two supporting male stars in the first image for a film which is supposed to support female empowerment), star Gal Gadot recently took to Twitter to post the first official image of Wonder Woman; from the now filming Wonder Woman movie.
We’ve already seen full length shots of Gadot as the Amazonian warrior/superhero in promo pics for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, but this new picture (available, courtesy of Gadot’s Twitter account, on the right) is the first image from Wonder Woman’s stand-alone film, and proof that shooting is finally underway, and will take place, at least in part, in a somewhat hazy London.
Plot details remain largely scarce at this time, and are likely to until at least near/following the release of Batman V Superman, but we do know Wonder Woman will co-star both Chris Pine and Said Taghmaoui, as well as Robin Wright, Danny Houston, and David Thewlis, and will be directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster).
Wonder Woman is due to be released on June 23rd 2017, but anyone looking to catch an early glimpse of the character can do so by watching Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice on March 25th next year.
