Woody Harrelson could be Han Solo’s Mentor

While we know Hail, Caesar! star Alden Ehrenreich is set to star as the young Han Solo in an upcoming, untitled, Star Wars spin-off/prequel movie focussing on the early years of the scruffy-looking nerf herder, another potential casting may soon see Rampart star Woody Harrelson picking up the part of Solo’s mentor.

Woody has entered early talks for the part, appearing to be the top choice of both Lucasfilm executives and directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The Lego Movie), and should he sign on will appear alongside not only Alden, but Donal Glover (the Community star set to play a young Lando Calrissian), and Game Of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke in a so far unnamed role.

Filming is set to begin this month, ahead of a scheduled release date in May 2018; though [unconfirmed] rumours currently see it being pushed back to December 2018.
