Wreck-It Ralph Sequel Underway

Wreck It Ralph 01After earning an impressively high score of $471m at the worldwide Box Office (on the back on a $150m+ budget) Disney Animation’s Wreck-It Ralph astounded not only the legions of children that fell in love with its larger-than-life good-guy and his adorable little sidekick, but their parents, critics across the globe, and pretty much everyone who ever played a video game, ever; so it should come as no surprise that Disney are work on a Wreck-It Ralph sequel.

That’s right, Wreck-It Ralph 2 will happen; composer Henry Jackman recently told Collider “it is officially on the cards” and despite stressing the fact he “can’t tell you more” he insists it’s “not because I’m being coy… I don’t know any more than a story is indeed being written.”

It may be difficult to see where Ralph could realistically go without re-treading the same ground as the first movie; in which the titular bad-guy began to question his existence as a bad-guy, attempted to better himself by becoming a good-guy, and hopped through some cameo-laden gaming worlds (much to the delight of gamers everywhere), in a life-changing adventure that featured the voice talents of John C. Reilly (Ralph), Sarah Silverman (his buddy Vanellope von Schweetz), Jack McBrayer (Fix It Felix), and Jane Lynch (Major Calhoun).

As of yet there’s no release date, cast-list (though presumably the major stars will be returning), or plot details, but the mere possibility of a potential Wreck-It Ralph 2 has fans chomping at the bit. As do the growing rumours of Disney prepping a sequel to the immensely successful Frozen.
