X-Men: First Class Sequel Gets Title

While everyone was eagerly anticipating the release of the sequel to the brilliant X-Men: First Class (the movie we said may just be “the best X-Men film so far“), we’ve already learned that director Matthew Vaughn will return, and been given an official release date, but now also have an official title; X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Coming from X-Men director Bryan Singer (who’s served as a producer on every X-Men movie released thus far), the news makes the release seem that more real, and suggests that X-Men: First Class 2 may focus on the 1981 comic run of the same name, which saw a time-traveler warn of a future where mutants were rounded up into concentration camps.

While Singer insists that the comic book storyline (which proved to be fairly controversial, but lives on as one of the great X-Men tales) won’t be perfectly adhered to, and stated that Days of Future Past will also “deal with some new things”, and may start to connect the new prequel movies to his original X-Men trilogy, when it’s released on July 17th 2014 in the UK, and the following day (July 18th 2014) in the US.
