Y: The Last Man Movie Gets New Writers

It’s another one of those projects that hinges on a brilliant idea; the way in which the world would fall apart if all the men, beside our hero Yorick, fell victim to a virulent plague and died; yet the Y: The Last Man movie remains inexplicably stuck in development hell; something which studio backers New Line are once again trying to change, by trashing all previous script drafts, and hiring new writers to tackle the project.

Adapted from the well received comic-series by Brian Vaughn and Pia Guerra, Y: The Last Man was once talked about as a trilogy of movies, though its huge story (which tracks Yorick as he attempts to find his girlfriend Beth; who was in Australia when the plague hit) proved too large to squeeze into even three films, yet nevertheless Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia (both of whom worked on the post-apocalyptic TV show Jericho) have now stepped up to tackle the challenge, and finally attempt to finally bring a Y: The Last Man film to the big screen.
