Following the release of the initial teaser trailer, a slew of character posters, a selection of images, a banner, and the hugely fan pleasing news that former Hobbit Billy Boyd (who played Pippin in The Lord of the Rings trilogy) would be singing the end credits song, we now have a full length theatrical trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies available to view below.
The Battle Of The Five Armies will be the third and final film in director Peter Jackson’s Middle Earth epic The Hobbit, and provide the conclusion to the journey undertaken by Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) and co. in An Unexpected Journey, and continued with the far more impressive The Desolation Of Smaug last year; where we’ll see the dragon laying waste to Laketown as the Dwarves attempt to reclaim their home under the Lonely Mountain, as the saga builds and unfolds in this Lord of the Rings prequel, which has been building to a truly epic confrontation.
Franchise favourites Ian McKellen, Cate Blanchett, Hugo Weaving, Christopher Lee, Ian Holm, and Orlando Bloom will all be appearing alongside returning Hobbit stars Luke Evans, Evangeline Lilly, Richard Armitage, Lee Pace, James Nesbitt, Graham McTavish, Stephen Fry, Sylvester McCoy, and Dean O’Gorman (and many more, including the voice of Benedict Cumberbatch; as the dragon Smaug), when The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies is released on December 12th in the UK, before making its official US released date on December 17th.
