Zorro Reborn, the planned post-apocalyptic reboot of the legendary character, seems to have only been in the ‘negotiation’ stages for quite a while now, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, the film has acquired new financing deals with Lantica Media and Sobini Films. Also, there are plans to have the movie undergo prinipal photography in March 2016 at Pinewood Dominican Republic Studios.
Zorro Reborn will take place in the near future in a post-apocalyptic world. The script will be written by Glenn Gers (Fracture) and Brian McGreevy and Lee Shipman, the two men behind Hemlock Grove, from a story by Ozzy Inguanzo (Spider-Man).Producing the film will be Mark Amin (Filth).
20th Century Fox is still looking for a director to bring the masked hero to life, with names such as Bryan Singer and Ricardo de Montreuil been thrown around before.
