While the awards circuit is still keeping him busy at the moment (thanks to the success of his latest directorial effort The Big Short), writer Adam McKay has said he will definitely be returning for Ant-Man And The Wasp; the sequel to Marvel’s Ant-Man, which was released last year to a surprisingly strong reception.
It’s not clear exactly what level of involvement McKay will have – “We’ve been talking to Marvel actually,” McKay says. “We just talked to them the other day, and it looks like I will be involved. I don’t know if it’s gonna be right from page one. But it looks like I will definitely be involved.” – though fans of the first should be pleased to hear he’ll be back at all given the options he’ll now have available, and the positive influence his involvement had on the first film.
Peyton Reed will be stepping into the director’s chair once more, Paul Rudd will be reprising the titular role (after popping up in Captain America: Civil War this year), and Evangeline Lily will have a much bigger part to play, when Ant-Man And The Wasp is released on July 6th 2018.
