Based on the novel Cross by author James Patterson, the upcoming crime/thriller Alex Cross has been scripted by Marc Moss (Along Came a Spider) and first-time writer Kerry Williamson, directed by Rob Cohen (The Fast and the Furious), and recently had its first trailer released online (now available to view below).
Starring Tyler Perry (Star Trek) as Alex Cross, the movie will see the titular detective investigating the gruesome and sadistic murders committed by a hitman known as The Butcher (Matthew Fox, Lost); a well trained criminal mastermind who’s not afraid to start toying with Cross, targeting his family, and pushing him to the edge of his ethical breaking point as both a cop and a father.
Co-starring Rachel Nichols (Conan The Barbarian), Ed Burns (Saving Private Ryan), Jean Reno (Leon), and John C. McGinley (Scrubs), Alex Cross is due to be released on October 19th in the US, before making its official UK release date on November 30th.
