While yesterday was officially Alien Day (though you’d be forgiven for not realising, as cinema chains and various retail stores in the UK did far less to promote the films than their US counterparts – read about the US offerings here), 20th Century Fox have today released the first official image from Ridley Scott’s upcoming Prometheus sequel/Alien prequel movie Alien: Covenant.
While the image itself doesn’t give away too much (see below – it’s simply a Weyland patch on a spacesuit), it nevertheless reminds us Ridley’s movie is ticking away (unlike Neill Blomkamp’s now indefinitely halted sequel to Aliens), and will find the crew of the titular spaceship Covenant heading to an uncharted ‘paradise’ which holds a whole heap of darkness and terror in store for them.
With Michael Fassbender returning, Alien Covenant is due to be released on August 4th 2017 in both the US and UK.
