Despite the fact that Marc Webb’s (500 Days of Summer) upcoming Spider-Man reboot; The Amazing Spider-Man; won’t be making it onto the big screen until the summer, Sony are keen to push ahead with the franchise, and have just hired two new writers to revise the script for its sequel; The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (known for their work on Transformers and Star Trek) have just been hired to take a look at the script and are, according to producer Matt Tolmach, “pitch perfect for Spider-Man”, and likely to churn out a script within the next few months, so production can begin next year, ahead of The Amazing Spider-Man’s scheduled May 2nd 2014 release date.
