After restarting the franchise last year with The Amazing Spider-Man, director Marc Webb will soon be bringing the wise-cracking webslinger, everyone’s favourite neighbourhood hero, Spider-Man back to the big screen for his second outing, and you can now see some of the first footage from the film, courtesy of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 teaser trailer, below (followed by a few images from the film).
Once more placing Andrew Garfield in the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man (the young lad who, once bitten by a radioactive spider, develops certain spider-like abilities, and proceeds to use them to fight crime in New York City), and Emma Stone as his girlfriend Gwen Stacy, the new movie promises to be “operatic” in both scale and ambition, and will give Pete a whole host of new villains to face.
Chief amongst the baddies is Elektro (played by Django Unchained’s Jamie Foxx), with Paul Giamatti (Ironclad) causing havoc as The Rhino, and Dane DeHaan (Chronicle) putting in an appearance as Harry Osborn (James Franco’s character from the former trilogy), When The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is released on April 18th 2014 in the UK, before making its official US release date on May 2nd 2014.
Two more Amazing Spider-Man movies are also planned in for release on May 2016, and May 2018.
