Coming from director Clint Eastwood (the western action hero who’s directed films such as Gran Torino, Million Dollar Baby, and J. Edgar), American Sniper is the upcoming biographical war film/drama based on the life of Chris Kyle, and has just had its first trailer and poster released online (both of which are available to view below, and on the right respectively).
Bradley Cooper (American Hustle) headlines the movie as Kyle; the most lethal sniper in American history, a man who served through four tours of duty in Iraq, and who’s pinpoint accuracy saved the lives of countless American soldiers, yet found when he returned to his wife (played by Layer Cake’s Sienna Miller) and children, he was unable to leave the war behind.
Adapted from Chris Kyles biography, by Jason Hall (Paranoia), American Sniper will co-star Jake McDorman (Die Hard 4.0), Kyle Gallner (A Nightmare On Elm Street), Luke Grimes (Taken 2), and Sam Jarger (Behind Enemy Lines), and is due to be released on January 16th in both the US and UK (following a limited release in the US on December 25th).
