Antoine Fuqua Directing Training Day TV Pilot

12 Monkeys, Minority Report, Limitless are among a number of recent film-to-TV adaptations, and the trend looks to be continuing; as CBS have just ordered a pilot episode for the Training Day TV series.

It was rumoured some time ago, but seems to be picking up steam as Antoine Fuqua (The Equalizer director who just so happens to be the man who directed the Academy Award-winning Training Day movie) is not only on board, but has agreed to direct the show’s pilot episode.

Neither Denzel Washington or Ethan Hawke are expected to return, but the behind-the-scenes team is accruing a number of impressive names; including producer Jerry Bruckheimer (CSI, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Rock), and script-writer Will Beall (ex-LAPD officer and Gangster Squad writer) is on board to script the pilot; and the premise will stay the same (albeit with a ethnic switch), and see a rookie cop partnering with a corrupt narcotics detective.
