John Huddy’s non-fiction book, ‘Storming Las Vegas: How a Cuban-Born-Soviet-Trained Commando Took Down The Strip to the Tune of Five World Class Hotels, Three Armoured Cars, and Millions of Dollars’, the upcoming film Storming Las Vegas now has not only a studio home (at Summit Entertainment), but also a director; Training Day’s Antoine Fuqua.
Set in the 1990s, at a time when Las Vegas was trying to portray a new, squeaky-clean, image, Storming Las Vegas will chronicle the true story of Jose Vigoa; who embarked upon a 16 month crime wave in the City of Sin, and was tracked by down by 23-year LVPD veteran, who also had the difficult job of keeping Vigoa’s actions hidden from the media.
There’s currently no release date set for the movie (which also doesn’t appear to have a writer at this time), and with Fuqua’s hectic schedule, it could be sometime before we see it finally released; as the director is already working on the action thriller The Tomb, the Pablo Escobar biopic, and Kurt Sutter’s boxing drama Southpaw, which is due to star Eminem.
