After releasing The Town in 2010 Ben Affleck suddenly became a director everyone wanted to work with; allowing him to pick and choose his next project; and as a result his next film, Argo, has allowed him to direct a brilliant cast, from an amazing script; as seen in the newly released trailer (now available to view below).
Based on real events, Argo centers around the storming of the US embassy in Tehran in 1979; which saw 52 Americans taken hostage, and six others finding refuge with the Canadian Ambassador; and the efforts of the CIA to rescue to the hostages before they meet their grisly end.
Affleck stars as Tony Mendez (an exfiltration specialist who comes up with a rather unusual plan to save the six escapees), in the film which co-stars Bryan Cranston (Drive), John Goodman (Roseanne), and Alan Arkin (Get Smart), and is due to be released on October 12th in both the US and UK.
