Assassin’s Creed final trailer

We’ve already seen a number of posters, and a couple of trailers, for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed movie; the film based on Ubisoft’s best-selling series of video games; but below you’ll find the latest, and final, Assassin’s Creed trailer.

Slightly more story-based than previous trailers, here we’re told how the Templars (headed by a mysterious Jeremy Irons – far more akin to his Borgias role than Batman v Superman‘s Alfred) are seeking to a legendary artefact which will basically help them control the entire population of the Earth. They’ll do this by kidnapping a man named Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender, X-Men: Apocalypse), throwing him into a machine called the Animus, and watching as he lives out the memories of his ancestor during the Spanish Inquisition (where the artefact was lost).

Co-starring Marion Cotillard (Allied), Brendan Gleeson (The Guard), and Michael K. Williams (The Wire), Assassin’s Creed has been directed by Justin Kurzel (Macbeth), and is due to be released on 21 December in the U.S., before making its official UK release date on 1 January 2017 (otherwise known as New Years Day).
