Everyone unanimously agreed that Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Joss Whedon did a fantastic job directing the huge Marvel crossover movie The Avengers, so it unsurprisingly disappointed a huge number of fans to learn that he was unsure about returning to direct a sequel; stating it was “an enormous amount of work telling what is ultimately someone else’s story.” Thankfully though fans can now rest at ease, as Whedon has now agreed to return and direct The Avengers 2.
Not only that, but Joss will also be hard at work developing an as yet unrevealed Marvel TV show; which Marvel simply describe as “a new live action series for Marvel Television at ABC.” The official statement from Marvel also said that Whedon’s exclusvie deal runs through the end of June 2015, and that “he will also contribute creatively to the next phase of Marvel’s cinematic universe.”
