With every comic-book fan in the UK already drooling over the impending release of The Avengers, and only two months to go until they’re finally satisfied (or let out a huge collective grumble), Marvel have decided it’s about time they not only released a new trailer film (now available to view below), but a new poster with a revised UK title (also seen below).
Yes, instead of calling the upcoming, Joss Whedon (Buffy The Vampire Slayer) directed, superhero-mash-up movie The Avengers (after the comic-books upon which it’s based), Marvel have decided to rename the film Marvel Avengers Assemble; just in case anyone was going to get confused between the impending blockbuster featuring Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Nick Fury, Hawkeye, and Phil Caulson, and the ‘60s TV series which featured an umbrella wielding man in a bowler hat, and Emma Peel in an alluring catsuit.
Starring Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Clark Gregg, Chris Evans, and Tom Hiddleston, The Avengers is due to be released in 3D, on April 27th in the UK, and on May 4th in the US.
