After the huge success of Bad Moms (a real contender for Comedy of the Year, and a film which made a healthy return of $170m+ at the Box Office, from a mere $20m budget), STX Entertainment has decided to run with the concept, and have just announced a planned spin-off movie; Bad Dads.
Yet Dads (which, surely won’t have the same pulling-power as a movie about outwardly perfect moms Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn ditching their parental responsibilities for a spot of drinking and partying? – surely that’s the stereotypical Dad role as is?) isn’t the only ‘Bad‘ product STX are planning to roll out, with the press release promising they will be “extending consumer passion for the Bad Moms brand with a series of film spin-offs, a reality television show, short form digital content, and a robust consumer products program.”
Still, while fans would clearly love a Bad Moms sequel, you won’t have long to wait for the next ‘brand extension’ or “first film offshoot”, as Bad Dads is already set for release on July 14 2017 in the US.
