Since the project was first announced, fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of animated Batman movie The Killing Joke. Mark Hamill (Star Wars star and regular voice of The Dark Knight’s animated nemesis The Joker) recently teased us with the first image from the film, and now we have an official behind-the-scenes featurette available to view below; whetting the appetite before the full release.
Adapted from the universally renowned comic by Alan Moore, The Killing Joke featured stunning artwork by Brian Bolland, and told a disturbingly dark tale where we were not only given a potential origin for The Clown Prince Of Crime, but also saw The Joker giving both Jim Gordon and Barbara Gordon one of the worst days of their lives; leading to film (which partially expands the role of Barbara) which may even end up with an R-rating in the US.
Kevin Conroy is once again voicing Batman and, with Batman: Year One director Sam Liu at the helm, Batman: The Killing Joke will receive its world premiere at this year’s Comic-Con before heading to Blu-ray and DVD later in the summer.
