Ben Foster Going 360

Soon to be seen in the remake of The Mechanic; where he plays the protege of an expert assassin played by The Expendables’ Jason Statham; Ben Foster is an actor worthy of watching, and one that will be appearing on cinema screens a great deal more in the future; particularly as he’s just signed on to appear in the indie film 360.

360 has been scripted by Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon), is due to be directed by Fernando Meirelles (The Constant Gardener), and tells a series of intertwining stories which all deal with relationships, love, and infidelity, that are based upon the 1900 play Reigen (which has already been adapted into the French film La Ronde), and focusses on couples from different social classes meeting, romancing, and having various affairs.

Now that Ben has wrapped production on Oren Moverman’s (The Messenger) Rampart, he’s free to join the cast that already includes Rachel Weisz (The Mummy actress who has already been directed to a Best Supporting Actress Oscar by Meirelles) and Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs), and is currently negotiating to do just that.

No key plot details have been given away just yet, and despite the talent involved 360 still doesn’t have a distributor (and so no official release date, or start date to begin filming), although it has secured funding to film, through various organizations; including a number of Austrian backers, and BBC Films.

Our review of Foster’s latest release; The Mechanic (which will be released on January 28th); can be found here.
