While not officially confirmed at this point, The Wrap are reporting Benicio Del Toro (known to many as The Collector from Guardians of the Galaxy) has entered talks to star as a major villain in Disney’s upcoming Star Wars: Episode VIII.
Should he sign on, Del Toro will be joining the still as yet untitled movie which will form the middle of the new Star Wars trilogy, and is due to be both written and directed by Rian Johnson (Looper).
Due to begin filming early next year, ahead of a May 6th 2017 release date, there’s currently very very little known about Star Wars: Episode VIII, though those who don’t know may excited to hear we’ll be getting a dose of Star Wars action far sooner; as the J.J. Abrams (Star Trek) directed Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens is due to be released on December 18th (this year) in both the US and UK.
