Telling the true story of the rise of infamous Boston gangster James “Whitey” Bulger, Black Mass will soon be heading to the big screen and, so you don’t forget you can see the brand new trailer and poster for the film below.
Starring Johnny Depp (Public Enemies) as Bulger; the most notorious gangster in the U.S., and the inspiration behind Jack Nicholson’s character in The Departed; Black Mass co-stars Joel Edgerton (Warrior), Kevin Bacon (X-Men: First Class), Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game), Dakota Johnson (50 Shades of Grey), and Corey Stoll (Ant-Man), and has been directed by Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart/Out of the Furnace).
Based on the book of the same name, Black Mass will explore the relationship between Bulger and FBI Agent John Connolly (Edgerton); an unholy alliance spawned by necessity, as Connolly convinced Bulger to collaborate with the FBI in order to eliminate a common enemy: the Italian mob; when it’s released on September 18th in the US, before making its official UK release date on November 13th.
