At the same time as admitting they’re looking to produce a sequel to the ‘horrifically funny’ Ted, Universal also said they’re not finished with the Bourne franchise just yet, and will be looking to craft more outings to follow on from this year’s Bourne Legacy.
While not the worldwide phenomenon the studio may have hoped for (The Bourne Legacy has only grossed $182 million at the worldwide Box Office, received mixed to average reviews, and ‘just about earned a thumbs-up’ from us), Universal obviously think there’s still life in the franchise, and will likely be looking to see Jeremy Renner return as CIA super-spy Aaron Cross for a sequel to the Tony Gilroy written and directed movie (with Gilroy also likely involved); unless Matt Damon (who played titular CIA super-spy Jason Bourne in the original trilogy) could be coaxed back again.
