Now that star Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass have left the franchise (possibly only temporarily), former Bourne writer and Michael Clayton director Tony Gilroy has stepped up and written the upcoming sequel/spin-off, The Bourne Legacy; a film which he is due to direct, and one that has just had it’s first photo and poster released online.
Jeremy Renner (The Town) will be taking Legacy’s lead role; as a new CIA-trained operative named Aaron Cross; and will be joined by Rachel Weisz (The Mummy), Edward Norton (Fight Club), and Scott Glenn (The Silence of the Lambs), in the movie which promises to include the trademark ticking-clock action we’re used to from the franchise on an even bigger scale, and is due to be released on August 3rd in the US, and on August 17th in the UK.
