With the fifth and final season of the multi-award winning Breaking Bad being split over such a long time, fans have been eagerly waiting to find out when and how the mild-mannered chemistry teacher turned calculating crystal meth cook Walter White would end his journey, and now AMC have confirmed that the final eight episodes of the show will air this summer; as Breaking Bad will return on August 11th (in the US).
Accompanying the show, AMC have also commissioned a new live series called Talking Bad; which will air directly after each new episode, and give fans a chance to discuss the events of the show in detail, as Breaking Bad draws to a close.
With a mere eight episodes left to air (and previous hints at possible Breaking Bad movies down the road), AMC will be looking to carry on the success of the brilliant show which is not only a masterclass in TV drama, but has garnered a feverishly cult following over the years, and earned a number of highly prestigious awards (including Emmys, Critics Choice, Writers Guild and Television Critics Association awards), and may soon be launching a Breaking Bad spin-off show; Better Call Saul!
