Set in the scandalous world of New York City politics, following a corrupt mayor, a low-rent private investigator, and an adulterous wife, the latest movie from Allen Hughes (From Hell) weaves a tale rife with drama, crime, passion, politics, and corruption; as seen in the official Broken City trailer (now available to view below).
Russell Crowe (Robin Hood) stars as the mayor of New York, and hires an ex-cop turned private investigator (Mark Wahlberg, Contraband) to find out who his wife (Catherine Zeta-Jones, Entrapment) is sleeping with; a seemingly average job, until Billy (Wahlberg) finds out, the lover turns up dead, and Billy finds himself sucked into a larger scandal and blackmailed into submission, before vowing to destroy the mayor once and for all.
Co-starring Kyle Chandler (Early Edition), Barry Pepper (Saving Private Ryan), and Natalie Martinez (Death Race), Broken City is the first feature scripted by Brian Tucker, and is due to be released on January 18th in the US, before making its official UK release date on January 25th.
