The teaser trailer, and various versions of it, have been dotting around since March, but now Paramount and Marvel have released a full theatrical trailer for one of the summer’s true tentpole movies; Captain America: The First Avenger; which can now be seen below.
Starring Chris Evans (Scott Pilgrim) as the scrawny WWII Army reject Steve Rogers, who enters a super soldier program only to become the epitome of human perfection, and head out to crush the Nazi’s once and for all (specifically their science division; which is headed by a man nickname the Red Skull, and played by The Matrix’s Hugo Weaving), Captain America has long been presented as one of the summer’s biggest films and, judging by the trailer, offers plenty of spectacle.
Co-starring Stanley Tucci (Burlesque), Tommy Lee Jones (Volcano), Richard Armitage (Spooks), Natalie Dormer (The Tudors), and Hayley Atwell (The Pillars of the Earth), the next Marvel adaptation (ahead of next year’s big Avengers crossover) is due to be released on July 22nd in the US, and on July 29th in the UK.
