While it had been pipped as a star-veichle for The Imitation Game’s Benedict Cumberbatch, the Sherlock star has now left James Gray’s (We Own The Night) upcoming adventure movie The Lost City Of Z; making way for Sons of Anarchy alumni, and Pacific Rim star, Charlie Hunnam to step into the breach and assume the leading role.
Adapted from David Grann’s book of the same name, and once have Brad Pitt attached to star, The Lost City Of Z follows a man who claims to have found the Lost City Of Z whilst he was suffering from malaria and attempting to map the Amazon jungle, and undeterred by the mocking from his peers he, his son, and a fellow companion head into the jungle in an attempt to rediscover the hidden treasure.
While there’s no set release date as yet, things have begun moving forward for The Lost City Of Z, as both Robert Pattinson (The Rover) and Sienna Miller (American Sniper) are now attached, and filming is scheduled to begin this summer.
