Charisma Carpenter; the actress who’s most famous role so far has been playing Cordelia Chase in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series, and its spin-off Angel, but has most recently been spotted in Sylvester Stallone’s action blockbuster The Expendables; has recently signed on to appear in an indie thriller known as Crash Site.
Crash Site recently began principal photography in Vancouver, where Jason Bourque (Bird Co.) will be directing the Jack and Joseph Nasser (Damage) produced thriller, that will also feature Ty Olsson (who’s better known for appearing in Battlestar Galactica, but has had many bit parts in larger movies such as Aliens vs. Predator – Requiem, and 2012), as the co-lead, opposite Charisma Carpenter.
The story will be focussing on a lone family who drive deep into the woods, where they suffer a terrible jeep crash that leaves them stranded in the wilderness, and forced to fight their way back to civilization past dangerous animals, numerous injuries, and a large number of strange creatures, that threaten their very survival.
There’s no word on an official release date yet (or whether or not this is a film that will actually make it onto the theatrical circuit; seen as how it’s mid-level cast, and simple plot, have the feel of a straight-to-DVD release), although given the movie’s low-budget nature, and the fact that principal photography has already begun, expecting to see the finished product next year shouldn’t be too much of a leap.
