Following in the footsteps of his father Martin Sheen; who’s considered by many to be the best ever fictional, onscreen, US President the world has ever seen (thanks to his stint in The West Wing); Charlie Sheen, the Platoon star recently better known for not only his role in Two and A Half Men, but controversies revolving around his exit from the show (among other things), and virulent advocation of Tiger Blood, will soon get his own chance to star as the President of the United States, in Machete Kills.
Machete Kills is the upcoming sequel to the brilliantly ridiculous and fun Machete; which starred Danny Trejo as an ex-Federale who gets caught up in a political conspiracy and goes on a bit of a rampage, championing an army of illegal immigrants to fight off drug dealers and corrupt politicians; and will once again star Trejo as the titular Mexican, who this time finds himself working for the US government.
Due to be directed by Robert Rodriguez; who recently Tweeted “I just cast Charlie Sheen in Machete Kills as the President of the United States! Who better? More soon…” (along with the picture on the right), Machete Kills will co-star Mel Gibson (How I Spent My Summer Vacation), Sofia Vergara (Four Brothers), Amber Heard (Drive Angry), Tom Savini (From Dusk Till Dawn), feature returning stars Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez, already has filming well underway, and is due to be released sometime next year.
