Chloe Moretz Talks Carrie

Chloe Moretz may be young, but she’s already shown her considerable acting talents on a number of occasions, and clearly has no trouble with fairly dark adult material (as seen by her turn as a vampire in Let Me In), so is widely regarded as a sound choice to replace Sissy Spacek, and recently spoke about her involvement in the upcoming remake of the horror classic Carrie.

Based on the Stephen King novel, Carrie is due to be directed by Kimberly Peirce (The Boys Don’t Cry director who’ll be treading in the footsteps of Brian De Palma); a director Moretz describes as “a total genius, and the right woman for the job”; and aiming to make the new film “darker and more psychological.”

Julianne Moore (The Kids Are Alright) was recently offered the role of Carrie’s mother Margaret; the religious zealot from whom all of Carrie’s insecurities stem, and a character who’ll have a huge role in the remake according to Chloe; who’s stated the new film will really delve “into the relationship between Carrie and Margaret” when filming gets underway in June.
