Already starring in three franchises (Lego, Guardians, and Jurassic World), with the potential for two more on the way (with a role in The Magnificent Seven confirmed, and the potential to star as Indiana Jones in a new reboot), Chris Pratt is quickly becoming a movie megastar, being offered films left, right, and center, and has now entered talks to star in the upcoming sci-fi film Passengers.
Due to be directed by Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game) there’s no set release date for the movie, although we do know it will take place on a spaceship which is transporting thousands of people to another planet, but see one passenger inexplicably awakened 90 years ahead of schedule, and unable to determine why, or how to fix things, deciding to wake another passenger rather than die alone.
With the last confirmed version of the script written by Jon Spaihts (the man behind Prometheus, and the upcoming Doctor Strange) back in 2010, it’s a positive step to see some forward movement on a film which has lingered in limbo for a number of years. Even if Pratt’s involvement isn’t secure as yet, and both he and Jennifer Lawrence (the Hunger Games’ star who’s entered talks for the co-lead) may have trouble committing due to increasingly crowded work schedules.
