Released nearly a quarter of a century ago (way back in 1988), Child’s Play became the very epitome of a video-nasty and spawned a whole sub-culture of killer-doll loving horror fans who simply couldn’t get enough of the stab-happy doll Chucky; the very same stab-happy doll who not only went on to star in two straight-up sequels, before both the Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky sent the franchise down a stranger and more comedic route, but could soon be seen in two new movies.
Brad Dourif (who starred as The Lakeshore Strangler; who transferred his soul into the Chucky doll before his death; and the voice of Chucky, but is now better known for his parts in Deadwood and The Lord of the Rings) recently confirmed that he’s involved with two new projects, which involve either a brand-new sequel (titled Revenge of Chucky), or a full-on franchise reboot; yet as the scripts are yet to be seen, there’s little other information to go on.
