We’ve seen plenty of pictures, a motion poster, and even a rather pointless teaser trailer, but now the full theatrical trailer for Marcus Nispel’s (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, 2003) remake of Conan the Barbarian has been released online, and is now available to view below.
While this new trailer may not be the most expertly put together, it gives us the first clear footage of Jason Momoa (Stargate Atlantis’ Ronon Dex), in the role previously filled by Arnold Schwarzenegger, plenty of fighting shots and sword swinging, and even brief glimpses of Conan’s friend Tamara (Rachel Nichols, Star Trek), his enemy Khalar Zym (Stephen Lang, Avatar), and the witch Marique (Rose McGowan, Charmed).
There’s even a couple of monsters on show in the new ad, which are likely not even a handful of the trails Conan will face as he traverses the land of Hyboria; with an eye to avenging the destruction of his village, and the massacre of his entire people (including his father Corin; who’s being played by Hellboy’s Ron Perlman); and makes his way into cinemas (in 3D) on August 19th in both the US and UK.
