Robert E. Howard’s most legendary creation has appeared in a slew of fantasy novels, video games, and two classic Arnold Schwarzenegger movies, but will soon be reappearing on the big screen in the remake of Conan the Barbarian; which has just has its first official trailer released online (available to view below).
While the new trailer doesn’t exactly offer up a great deal of footage, it does at least provide an idea of how Jason Momoa (Stargate Atlantis) will look and sound in the iconic role of Conan; the barbarian who goes on a quest, fighting monsters, bandits, and a number of supernatural evils, to avenge the massacring of his people (which occurred when he was just a young boy).
Also appearing will be Stephen Lang (Avatar), Ron Perlman (Sons of Anarchy), Rachel Nichols (Star Trek), and Rose McGowan (Charmed), in the Marcus Nispel (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, 2003) directed film that’s due for release in both the U.S. and U.K. on August the 19th, and will of course, be presented in 3D.
