Written by Tangled scribe Dan Fogelman, Crazy, Stupid, Love. is a romantic-comedy with a difference; in that it’s not only got an all star cast, and looks to contain plenty of laughs, but might just be one for the lads as well; and has just had its first official trailer released online (which is now available to view below).
Centering on Cal Weaver (played by Date Night’s Steve Carell), Crazy, Stupid, Love. follows the extremely ordinary man as his wife asks him for a divorce, and his life begins to implode; to the point where he begins spending his bitter time at local bars; until he watches a young stud named Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling, Fracture) picking up women, and decides to ask for a few pointers.
Palmer then sets Weaver on the path to becoming a stud himself; with a new suit, new haircut, and plenty of exercise; that lead him back into the dating game (and the arms of The Wrestler’s Marisa Tomei), but cause him to realize the only thing he really wants, is to repair the broken relationship with his wife.
Also starring Julianne Moore (Chloe); as Cal’s wife; and Emma Stone (Zombieland); as Gosling’s love interest, Hannah; the Glenn Ficarra and John Requa (Bad Santa) directed movie will be released in the US on July 29th, and crossing the pond for a UK release date on September 2nd.
