Enjoy CastAway but always thought Wilson would be better replaced by a flatulent corpse played by Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe? Well rejoice, because the time is now – as Daniel Radcliffe is playing said farting corpse in Swiss Army Man, the trailer for which can now be seen below.
Starring Paul Dano (Looper) as a man who’s lost all hope of ever being rescued from the desert island upon which he’s stranded, yet seem to regain some of his will to live when a corpse named Manny (Radcliffe) washes ashore and becomes his friend; setting off on a quest to help Hank (Dano) get back to the woman he loves.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead (10 Cloverfield Lane) co-stars in the film which has been directed by music video directors Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan (collectively known as DANIELS), and proved to be fairly divisive at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year; with reactions ranging from joyful exuberance to plain disgust; despite aiming to be both comedic and heartwarming.
Due to receive a limited release in the US on June 17th, before a wide release on July 1st, there’s sadly no official UK release date for Swiss Army Man as yet (it doesn’t even have a distributor attached over here).
