The Danish Girl, another film getting ready for Oscar-bait season, has been given its first melodramatic trailer.
Based on the novel by David Ebershoff, Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything) plays Einar/Lili, one of the very first people who underwent gender reassignment surgery. Einar’s wife Gerda, played by Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina) starts painting him as a lady in her portraits, igniting a feminine spark inside himself which inspired him to dress like a women, change his physical appearance and adopt the name Lili Elbe.
