Coming from director Roel Reine (Death Race 2), Dead in Tombstone has been written by Shane Kuhn and Brendan Cowles (the pair behind Reine’s The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption), and is due to be a Grindhouse-style action/adventure with a fair bit of fun, dark comedy, and two fairly recognizable stars; as Danny Trejo (Machete) and Mickey Rourke (Sin City) have just signed on to appear.
Trejo will star as the leader of a gang of outlaws, who plans to break his brother Red (Anthony Michael Hall, The Dead Zone) out of prison before going on a crime-spree, only to be betrayed by him, wind up dead, and quickly find himself making a deal with the Devil (Rourke) so that he can come back a year later, and seek out his bloody revenge, in the film which is due to start filming next week, ahead of an as yet unannounced release date.
