Even though many a movie-lover, and comic book fan alike, may be swooning over the release of The Avengers at the moment (and you can read our review to learn why it’s currently storming the international Box Office), there’s another superhero movie slated for release this summer which could be just as big; especially given the latest trailer for The Dark Knight Rises (now available to view below).
It’s due to be the final installment in Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise, as The Dark Knight Rises looks to be taking the caped crusader out with a real bang (especially given how much of the new movie has been filmed in IMAX); bringing Christian Bale’s Bruce Wayne/Batman from his time on the run to battle both the wrecking-ball that is Bane (Tom Hardy, Warrior) and the enigmatic Selena Kyle/Catwoman (Anne Hathaway, Alice in Wonderland).
Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman will all be reprising their roles from the previous movies, and joined by newcomers Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard (both of whom worked with Nolan and Hardy on Inception), when The Dark Knight Rises is released on July 20th in both the US and UK.
