We all knew it was coming (even despite the recent retractions), but now Warner Bros. have officially confirmed that the six-minute prologue for The Dark Knight Rises (Christopher Nolan’s upcoming third and final Batman movie) will be shown before IMAX screenings of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.
Given the success of The Dark Knight’s prologue it was inevitable The Dark Knight Rises would receive the same treatment (particularly as Nolan says “Giving the fans an early look at an IMAX sequence is a great way to draw attention to what I believe will be an incredible way to experience our story when it comes out next summer”), and will now likely have a huge hand in upping the grosses for IMAX screenings of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol; which is due to open on December 16th in the US, and almost a full week later in the UK screens, on December 21st.
Anyone looking to catch an IMAX screening of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol can do so at BFI London; the National Media Museum IMAX in Bradford; Glasgow Science Centre IMAX Cinema; and Odeon Manchester IMAX at The Printworks in Manchester; and The Dark Knight Rises itself will be released everywhere, on July 20th next year.
