After wowing audiences with her performance in Mad Max: Fury Road last month, everyone’s keen to see what Charlize Theron’s next project’s will be, and thankfully we’ve now got a full trailer to give us an idea; the Dark Places trailer to be exact, which can now be seen below.
Theron headlines Dark Places as a woman who, aged only 8, witnessed the murder of her family (apparently at the hands of a Satanic cult), and 25 years later is forced to confront some dark truths about the case; once of which being her brother (Corey Stoll, Non-Stop), who’s been in prison for a quarter of a century and never appealed his guilty verdict, may actually be innocent of the crime.
With Nicholas Hoult (Charlize’s Mad Max co-star) playing a member of a cold-case investigating group known as the Kill Club, Dark Places has been written by Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl), co-stars Tye Sheridan (Mud), Chloë Grace Moretz (The Equalizer), Christina Hendricks (Drive), and Drea de Matteo (Sons of Anarchy), and is due to be released on August 7th in the US, but is yet to received an official UK release date.
