Following the hugely positive reactions to the Deadpool test footage (which found its way online after Comic-Con, earlier this year), the film has finally jumped out of development hell and been greenlit; as 20th Century Fox have officially announced a Deadpool movie, and slated it for release in 2016.
While fans were less than inspired by the representation of the Marvel character in X-Men origins: Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds fortunately wasn’t blamed for the misrepresentation, and has been a strong advocate of portraying the red-suit wearing, curse-word-happy, superhero Deadpool, and his everyday persona Wade Wilson, ever since.
While no deal is currently in place, it’s strongly believed that Reynolds will reprise his role as Deadpool for the new movie, which is due to be directed by visual effects veteran Tim Miller, has already been through numerous script drafts, and is due to be released on February 12th 2016.
