After the very interesting Showtime Antiheroes panel at this year’s ongoing Comic-Con in San Diego; which saw an all star panel comprising of Michael C. Hall (Dexter), David Duchovny (Californication), Eddie Falco (Nurse Jackie), and Paul Schulze (who plays Eddie Walzer in Nurse Jackie), among others, discussing their roles and the future of their various shows; came the dedicated Dexter panel, which provided some mouthwatering treats to get fans of the show excited ahead of the next season premiere.
Michael C. Hall; who plays the show’s family man come serial killer (who’s still the hero, as he sticks to a strict moral code laid out by his adoptive father, and only kills those who the law has failed to adequately punish); was in attendance at the panel, along with his onscreen sister Deborah (played by his offscreen girlfriend Jennifer Carpenter), and onscreen father Harry Morgan (played by James Remar), who all seemed to love talking about the show, and did an excellent job of talking it up (a video of Michael C. Hall discussing the show’s next season can be seen below, but should not be viewed by anyone that hasn’t already watched the fourth series).
The main treat however came by way of a fantastic trailer for Season 5; a trailer that should definitely not be watched by anyone who isn’t up to date with the show, as it contains a truly massive spoiler, and shows just what happens to Dexter and his family following the shocking and climactic events of the show’s fourth season, how Dexter struggles to cope with what has happened, and how the suspicions of the detectives closest to him threaten to tear his whole world apart.
Season five will premiere in the U.S. on Sunday September 26th; and appear on U.K. TV (on an as yet unconfirmed date) a lengthy amount of time later; and looks to be even more shocking, intriguing, tense, utterly compelling, and downright brilliant, as previous installments.
The trailer can be seen below, following the Michael C. Hall interview, and Comic-Con panel image gallery.
